Comments: One of the most sublime mountain views I've ever seen. The Minarets are so steep that they won't hold all the snow that was still in the backcountry.
It had been 20 years since being at this lake. It was far more beautiful than last time. Unfortunately the hike to get here took so long I couldn't spend as much time as I wished enjoying the surroundings, plus there was the distinct feeling of an afternoon thunderstorm developing.
Several clumps of hikers passed me on their way out.
