World Wide Panorama 2004

Here's my entry in the WWP, along with the panoramas which didn't make the cut. I personally think that some of these are more visually interesting than what I submited to the WWP but they don't seem as spring equinox-like.

Bluffs over beaches south of Pigeon Point, my WWP entry

On rocks next to Pigeon Point beach interesting geological formations

Small bluff over beach next to Pigeon Point while I waited here, I saw a few guided groups of people walk out to the tip of Pigeon Point.

On rocks at water's edge, next to Pigeon Point the rocks are amazingly encrusted with different marine organisms.

Tidal flats south of Pigeon Point This spot seemed like one of the best of the day.

I also was hoping to capture the lighthouse light in one of my shots but unfortunately it was not on while I was there. Later I learned that the lighthouse has been closed ever since two 350 pound chunks of the cornice fell off the superstructure. I spent about five hours sitting on the bluffs waiting for the sun to come out, and it never did.

The lighthouse was in the news around the time of the WWP--ownership was transferred from the Coast Guard to State Parks.
