Silver
Pass is at about 11000'. The peak on the horizon directly above the "book"
shaped rock in the foreground is Recess Peak, 12813 and seven miles away,
and the culmination of First Recess if you went up that. The range to
the right of that are mountains in the Bear Creek watershed through which
the JMT travels on its way south of Lake Edison. The sloping ridgeline
just beneath the horizon is the backdrop for Pocket Meadow. This view
is visible with less detail in the third and fourth panoramas shot on
Day 6.
