Colophon

This document composed in Dreamweaver v3 and BBEdit. The stitching was done by Apple's QuickTime Authoring Studio v1.01. Of course Photoshop v5.5 was used to optimize the photographs. The titling font is ScalaSans.

The stitching was made far more difficult by the fact that all shots were done either handheld or with a monopod. That meant that there was not a predictable number of degrees rotation between shots, and the angle from one to the next could also be quite different.

In scanning these panoramas, a number of rolls of my Agfa film were heavily underexposed. After re-scanning a number of scenes because of suspecting my scanner was faulty, (and many hours of time wasted), I tried scanning a frame of Agfa 100 on a Nikon Coolscan 2000, which should have resulted in a clear, crisp, ideal grain. Instead it was just as garbled as it looked on my Polaroid Sprintscan. I examined my camera and concluded that somewhere along the way, the ISO film rating had shifted from automatic detection to a fixed 800 speed, and thus the slower the film, the more underexposed it was. A great deal of effort was made to recover ffrom this, but you can still see some graininess on many images.
