| Wildflowers at Edgewood County Park, San Mateo area | ||||

Tidy-tips, Owl Clover, Goldfields, Larkspur, and Blue-eyed grass are all visible (and hopefully identifiable) in this wildflower close-up. | |||
| Wildflowers at Kehoe Beach, Point Reyes National Seashore | ||||
| A great day at Point Reyes. These close-up scenes of vegetation may require more careful work than for typical panos where most everything is at least ten feet away. | ||||
| California Poppies amongst some rocks overlooking the Pacific Ocean | ||||
| One of my favorite pans with the 5000. This was a breezy day so the poppies were moving around. I think I shot this with 1/500th to try to freeze them. | ||||
| Redwoods on Bear Gulch Trail | ||||
| There may be a slight stitching problem to the right of the corner on the trail where it crosses a drainage. However much of the pan is quite sharp. | ||||
| Old Ranch ruins | ||||
| As long as the sun is not in the frame, the sky holds up pretty well. Taken near noon. | ||||
| Cloudy day near sunset (some of the earliest pans I've done with the 5000) |
||||

|
As with the CP99x, the raw images seem "soft" and the stitched image requires a tremendous amount of sharpening to equal the clarity of film panoramas. The sky is pretty blasted out where the setting sun was, but given the clouds and rapidly changing lighting, it doesn't bother me that much. Shot using the built-in lens at 28mm setting on a tripod. |

| Crater Lake on the PCT trail nr1 |
||||

|
Hand-held panorama. Shot using the built-in lens at 28mm setting. |
|||
| Crater Lake on the PCT trail nr2 |
||||
| Hand-held panorama. Shot using the built-in lens at 28mm setting. |
||||
| Crater Lake Rim Trail | ||||
| Hand-held panorama. Shot using the built-in lens at 28mm setting. Wrong exposure chosen due to extreme cold affecting the operator. However the camera performed fine at 0 degrees. |
||||
| For comparison with film, here's a Crater Lake pano shot with Supra 100 film a day after the above Rim Trail scene. | ||||
