Comments: On a morning when snow flurries drifted across Highway 50, I parked at the Eagle Lake trailhead and prepared my gear. Oddly enough, a VW van pulled up next to me and a guy got out and started doing the same. I said good morning to him as I headed up the trail. Turns out he was a photographer too. The rocky stretch around the first bridge was quite slick with ice. Eagle Lake was quiet and beautiful but it was very chilly, I think perhaps 24 degrees.
