Comments: I took the water taxi to the other end of Echo Lake and headed strongly up the trail. At some point the trail began to be covered with islands of snow, then not long after that it became completely covered with snow. It was hard to follow and I ended up left off the main trail, but in a rocky place with a fine view. I didn't drink enough and was rather thirsty at this spot.
