Information on Butano State Park

Butano State Park currently has about 2,200-acres of redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains, but will soon increase in size by about 50% when it officially adds the Gazos Forest that was acquired last year. There is very fine hiking over both trails and fire roads amongst the redwood groves. The park is sandwiched between Big Basin, Cascade, and Cloverdale Ranch, and is a few miles from the beautiful coast.
